Carnforth's Creation

Carnforth's Creation

Tim Jeal

Tim Jeal

Tim Jeal's sixth novel, first published in 1983, recreates the frenetic Britain of the 1960s and tells an enthralling tale of three individuals bound together by a risky experiment conducted amid the pop-cultural ferment of the era. Paul Carnforth is young, wealthy, titled, and alive to the opportunities of his times. 'You don't have to like pop to find it interesting', he tells his sceptical wife. Paul decides to fashion a pop star of his own - as a 'moral swipe', also proof of his individual brilliance. But the creation will soon threaten to outgrow his creator.'Pop music, working class heroes, record companies, music publishers and stately homes as settings for orgiastic settings, it's all here ... Mr Jeal writes comedy very well.' Irish Times'Tim Jeal is a writer very much out of the ordinary - trenchant, elegant, subtle.' Sunday Telegraph

Jackson is just as determined...to see Amanda again when the drug bust is over. But will the growing love between Amanda and Jackson survive the pressures of finding the grow-op? Join Amanda and Jackson in a journey of discovery, where the ultimate destination is love.Sensuality Level:  Sweet RomanceThis book has a new cover as of October 2012Review"A good, well paced story with all the right elements - romance, intrigue, a beautiful setting, and believable characters Mona Ingram has an uncanny ability to draw her characters so well you are drawn right into their lives - even those on the fringes of the story. I didn't want this one to end." "I look forward to Mona Ingram's new books when they show up on Amazon. They are a good escape and are fun to get to know the characters. My favourite character in this book is Agnes, she is the type of lady that all of us would be happy to have in our life to put us in our place and to be brutally honest with. She's a no nonsense type lady and I would have loved to read more with her in the book. The plot of the story is interesting with a surprising twist, and you can't help but dislike Amanda's husband Vince from the start and side with her getting together with Jackson although she is a married woman. A fun read!" From the AuthorI grew up in northern British Columbia, and if I close my eyes I can see the calm green waters of mountain lakes, their surface broken only by the dip of a canoe paddle. I can hear the crackle of a campfire and the haunting cry of Loons just before darkness. It's a wild and beautiful country; a perfect setting for this romantic story. Enjoy!
